Are you Jealous of Me?

Jealousy and envy is a common human trait. Most people don't like it when others climb up and reach their dreams or goals or succeed in life. I should put it as one of the worst human attributes. And it is even worse when you pray for their destruction. Itz the most HORRIBLE thing you could ever ask for.

Most people succeed and achieve their dreams, not just by sitting idle. If we delve further, their hard work and perseverence will be obvious. If you are jealous of their success, why not give a shot at working as hard as them? Then again, some people are "lucky" and hence they succeed. Is it really luck? I don't believe that, in this world there is something called luck. This life is a test. A test of your patience, of your gratitude, of your tolereance, of your faith towards Allah. Everything, yes everything, be it your success or failure, happiness or sorrow, everything is from Him. So, if anyone is really successful, it is a test in this world. And being jealous about it, what will you gain? Nothing!!

What if someone is really talented? And anything that person does is always good or perfect even. Couldn't that attribute also be considered as Allah's blessing? Being jealous of others talents, why not try to discover our own talent. It will be difficult, but there might be somethings that are hidden deep within us that it could take eternity to discover them. But, it will never be a waste. It is really a pleasure to do things that you really enjoy. And even if people are envious about it, you will never want to let it go.

An excerpt from the book The Ideal Muslim: " The one who weighs heavily in the balance of Islam (i.e., is successful) is the sincere man whose heart is free from deceit, treachery, envy and hatred, even if his acts of worship are few. Despite the paucity of his worship, he is like a pure, solid brick in the structure of the Islamic community. The one whose heart is filled with hatred, envy, deceit and malice towards people, weighs lightly in the balance of Islam (i.e., is a failure), even if his acts of worship are many, because he is like a weak brick in the structure of the community; this weak link and others like it, may be the cause of its collapse."

So, whenever anyone accomplishes anything, don't be envious of them. Just try your hardest to be successful. Try your hardest with a good and pure intention in your heart. Try to compete with yourself. Just be passionate about the things you want to accomplish. Work hard and Play hard. Don't stain your heart with negative feelings. All are human beings, everyone being different and unique, brings out the beauty of the world!
